Dr. Abdul Mannan MBChB, DFSRH, PG Cert, MRCGP

  • Dr Mannan qualified in Medicine from the University of Manchester, England in 2000. He obtained his Certificate of Specialist Training in General Practice and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2005.

  • Dr Mannan has been trained at Masters levels in Medical Education. He now works as a full time General Practitioner in Hazelvalley surgery in East Lancashire, England.

  • He is responsible for the training and assessment of foundation year and GP specialist training doctors. He also looks after appraisal and revalidation of fully qualified general practitioners as a GP appraiser.

  • He is an undergraduate tutor, supervising medical students from the University of Manchester, UCLAN and Lancaster.

  • In the locality Dr Mannan is the Medical Director of the local NHS Primary Care Network and takes a key role in the role out of the COVID19 vaccination programme in Rossendale.

  • He is one of two Medical Directors of Blue Peanut and is responsible for our highly successful UCAT, BMAT training and NHS work experience placements. In addition he designs courses and training for postgraduate GP assessments such as the AKT and MRCGP CSA examination.

Dr. Imran Khan MBChB, LLM, DFSRH, FRCGP

  • Dr Khan qualified in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2000 with Dr Mannan. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011.

  • He works as a full time General Practitioner in Hazelvalley surgery. Dr Khan also supervises foundation and GP specialist training doctors, particularly during the GP out of hours period.

  • He also looks after appraisal and revalidation of fully qualified general practitioners as a GP appraiser.

  • Dr Khan completed a Masters in Medical Ethics and Law at the University of Scotland, Edinburgh in 2015. He was the clinical lead GP for the local GP out of hours service in East Lancashire, as well as the Medicines Management Lead in East Lancashire CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group).

  • He was also the Faculty Representative at the North West Locality of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

  • Using his medico-legal skills, he is a trained GP expert witness having completed civil expert witness training at the University of Cardiff, and handles all clinical governance in the GP practice.

  • He is the second Medical Director of Blue Peanut and designs the highly successful Medical School Interview courses as well as training for the Situational Judgement Foundation Year assessment.
